☆ BLACKPINK is a multinational idol group under YG Entertainment, consisting of Koreans Jisoo and Jennie, Thai member Lisa, and Korean-New Zealander Rosé. Notably, they are YG’s first group without a leader, as the four members consider themselves friends who can work well together without one. The group name “BLACKPINK” signifies a contrast to the perception of pink as the prettiest color, implying ‘don’t just look pretty’ and ‘appearance isn’t everything.’ Before debuting, the group’s tentative name was PINKPUNK, and fans speculated other names like "TLC-F," "Magnum," and "BABYMONSTER" before BLACKPINK was finalized.
☆ BLACKPINK debuted in 2016 with their title song "Whistle" from the single album 'SQUARE ONE', quickly topping both terrestrial broadcasting and Melon Music Charts, earning them the title of Monster Rookie of the Year. Their 2018 hit "DDU-DU DDU-DU" ranked first in the Gallup Korea Survey's Song of the Year. In 2020, they made history by achieving the highest rankings for a Korean girl group on the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200, and became the first girl group to reach #1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart. Their first full-length album, 'THE ALBUM', sold 1.4 million copies, making them the first Korean girl group to achieve million-seller status. Their second album, 'BORN PINK', broke records with 1.54 million copies sold in the first week and 2.8 million overall, while they also reached the top of both the UK Albums Chart and Billboard 200, making them the first Korean and Asian girl group to achieve this feat. The title song "Shut Down" became their first to rank number one on Spotify's Global Weekly chart.

- Fav Foods : Jisoo loves rice and traditional Korean dishes, especially kimchi. Jennie enjoys avocado and anything with healthy ingredients. Rosé has a big love for spicy foods and is known for enjoying dishes with extra heat. Lisa loves French fries and her favorite Thai food, which includes dishes like Pad Thai and Tom Yum Kung.
- Jisoo can play the drums and guitar, and she loves collecting plushies. Jennie spent several years studying in New Zealand before debuting. Rosé was born in New Zealand and raised in Australia; she’s also skilled at playing the piano and guitar. Lisa is the only non-Korean member, hailing from Thailand, and she’s fluent in multiple languages, including Thai, Korean, English, and basic Japanese.
- Jennie, Lisa, and Jisoo set up their own companies — ODD Atelier, LLOUD, and BLISSOO, respectively — while Rosé announced in June 2024 that she had joined YG subsidiary The Black Label, which was co-founded with long-time BLACKPINK producer Teddy Park.
