Hi, Kooky family!
Phone number verification helps confirm that each Kooky account is being used by a real, unique participant. It is being introduced to keep features such as Vote, rewards, Funding, and purchase limits fair for everyone as Kooky continues to grow.
As the service has expanded, we have continued reviewing how accounts are created and used across the platform. Through this process, we identified limitations in preventing a single person from operating multiple accounts, which can affect the fairness of voting, rewards, and purchase limits.
To support fair and sustainable participation across Kooky, we are introducing phone number verification.
All dates and times below are based on Korea Standard Time (KST).
• Starting September 7, 2026, some users creating a new account may be asked to complete phone number verification.
• Starting September 14, 2026, phone number verification will be required for all new account registrations.
• Starting September 14, 2026, existing users will also be required to complete phone number verification when claiming Kooky rewards or making a purchase.
This timeline is designed to:
• Give users time to complete verification before it becomes mandatory
• Minimize disruption to rewards or purchases already in progress
• Account registration: A phone number verification step will be included during sign-up.
• Claiming Kooky rewards: If your account has not been verified, you will be prompted to complete verification when attempting to claim a new reward. Verification is required to earn or claim new Kooky rewards.
• Product purchases: If your account has not been verified, a verification notice will appear above the purchase button on the product page. You must complete verification before proceeding with checkout.
• Existing Kooky and Loovy balances: Any Kooky or Loovy you already hold will remain available and can be used as usual without phone number verification.
This update will help protect the fairness of Kooky’s voting, rewards, Funding, and commerce features as the platform continues to grow.
