Global super rookies UNIS are back with their second mini album, SWICY. Since making waves with their debut single album CURIOUS last August, the group has proven their rising status by selling out their first fan meetings in Japan and the Philippines. Showcasing a diverse musical range through tracks like SUPERWOMAN and You Don’t Know, UNIS has been carving out a sound uniquely their own. Now, after eight months, they’re turning up the heat with a brand-new release.
Unexpected taste, who’s that SWICY girl?
SWICY—a mash-up of “sweet” and “spicy”—embodies the bold and playful duality of UNIS. Just like the global fascination with K-pop and K-food, this album blends contrasting flavors to deliver a fresh take on what a girl group can be. The title track SWICY captures this concept perfectly, using witty lyrics and a lively melody to serve up an audio experience that feels like flipping through a recipe book full of unexpected, addictive flavors.
The album includes five tracks that showcase the group’s personality and versatility. Starting with the fluttering feelings of first love in From a Seed Called “What Are You Doing?”, to the cheeky confidence of DDANG!, which mixes doo-wop influences with bold rock energy. Good Feeling brings warmth through its acoustic base and delicate vocals, while Spring Rain uses the metaphor of a sudden downpour to express the rush of a surprise crush. Together, these tracks bring UNIS’s signature sweet-and-spicy charm to life.
With SWICY, UNIS pushes boundaries once again—proving that their ever-evolving sound and energy are impossible to define. Their story is just getting started.
