Open in Kooky app
Even before the shutting down of a certain bird app *cough cough*, K-Pop fans have always searched for an ideal single place that caters to all their fandom needs: the ability to communicate with other fans and make friends, post content related to your favorite idols, work together to meet streaming and voting goals, and do it all in your fandom's own private safe space.
Well, Kooky’s community feature lets you do all that and so much more! We’re going to give you a brief introduction to what you can do in the community feature and how to get started.
Each community is separated by fandom, so you’ll be in a unique safe space with only fans of the same artist. You can join multiple communities, and all your posts will still only be viewable within the community you posted it in.
You can post a number of different things within your fandom community, like pictures, gifs, text-only posts and external links.
As you use the community more, you’ll surely come across link-minded people, so become mutuals by following each other, letting you see each other’s posts on a separate friends-only feed.
The Kooky community keeps all your basic needs covered too: you’ll get notifications whenever someone likes or replies to one of your posts or comments, and you can also customize your notifications to your preferences, or block other users you don’t want to interact with.
When you first sign up for the Kooky App, you’ll be prompted to choose your favorite artists - you will only be able to view and post in the fandom communities of the artists you pick!
Pick your username, a stunning or funny profile picture, and write a catchy bio so other fans who come across your account know what you’re all about.
Click the + button in the center of your menu to open up the post creation screen. Here you’ll be able to pick which community you want to post in, and then you can add a title, body text, or media to your post.
By hitting the community button, this is where you can find other users and view their profiles to follow them. You’ll also see 3 special feeds with content from the communities you follow.
‘My Feed’ shows posts by friends whose accounts you’ve followed; ‘Trending’ shows the hottest posts from each of your communities; and ‘New’ shows the latest posts from each of your communities.
We've updated the small errors and improvements in the app. In addition, we added the "HOT" tab to the community to check out popular posts among all communities' posts, and provide an opportunity to share an interest in various artists.
And if you’re not feeling a certain type of community discourse today? Simply toggle on and off which community’s posts you want to see by using the artist buttons at the top!
The Kooky community feature as a whole is still brand new, so we plan to have a whole bunch of features rolling out in 2023 to heighten your experience even further. Our mission is to make the best possible community space for K-Pop fans!
