Nowadays, it is no surprise to see more K-Pop groups composed of artists from different nationalities and today we’ve picked one of the newest rookie groups that fall under that description to present to you all.

Girl group Lapillus consists of six members: Chanty, Shana, Yue, Bessie, Seowon, and Haeun, and they made a strong impact with their debut on June 20, 2022, showcasing their determination to take over the music scene. It was a short wait for their first comeback too, in which they continue to demonstrate the powerful concept of the group.

Who is Lapillus?

The word ‘Lapillus’ comes from Latin and means ‘a gemstone that shines in different colors depending on the direction of the light.’ With such a bright idea behind their name, the group aims to show their unique colors to the world and captivate global hearts.

Let’s get started with a quick introduction to the members: Lapillus exists thanks to the three Korean members Haeun, Seowon, and Bessie, Chinese-American Yue, Japanese Shana, and Filipino-Argentinian Chanty. The group already holds so much global power, and we are ready to witness their growth as a team, as well as individuals.

The girls hit the stage back in June with their debut digital single ‘HIT YA!’ The song showcases power and confidence in both sound and performance; the song captivated the audience with addictive lyrics that easily stick after one listen. Lapillus also displayed their dance powers and stage presence, making it impossible for fans to look away.

Only three months after their debut, Lapillus returned to the music scene with their first mini-album ‘GIRL's ROUND Part. 1’. The ladies took a step further into showing their talents through the double-titles ‘GRATATA’ and ‘Burn With Love.’

‘GRATATA’ gives us another upbeat track with quite an addictive chorus and a dance rhythm that invites the listener to the dance floor. The song also features a strong Indian-style element which is pretty hard to miss, making the music piece even more outstanding and intriguing.

On the other hand, ‘Burn With Love’ presents a more melodic vibe while still holding the impactful sound that the group introduced in other songs. Broadening their style, they are slowly presenting different sides to themselves and their musical capabilities.

The six members have their dreams set and will be conquering them through their already shining abilities. They may be new, but they are definitely showing potential that deserves attention.
