Gangnam, known as the “Green Smart City”, along with the district head Cho Seong-myeong, will be hosting the '2022 Gangnam Festival' on Samsung-dong, Yeongdong-daero and around the COEX complex, from September 30th to October 8th.

'2022 Gangnam Festival' has returned after 3 years, and is planned to be a global festival where people can enjoy 19 events. The festival has the slogan of 'Draw Gangnam' and has been designed as a K-Culture party. Moreover, the district expanded the number of events that the inhabitants living in Gangnam-gu are actively participating in.

Opening Ceremony 🔄️

Time: Sept 30th, 7:30 PM

Location: K-Pop Square

The opening show of Gangnam Festival 'Draw Gangnam' will be hosted on September 30th at 7:30 PM KST in COEX square. 170 people, including a performance group, the inhabitants of Gangnam, and K-culture fans, will perform on the stage, introducing the main event of the festival. After their performance, all of them will do 'Ganggangsullae' (a Korean circle dance game) together showing the perfect harmony. Then, the wide screen on the side of the COEX building will show a video about the festival.

Garosu-gil Design Week

Time: Oct 1st(11:00-19:00) ~ Oct 5th

Location: Garosu-gil, Sinsa-dong

A flea market where you can meet various and unique brands of Garosu-gil Design Week such as Living, Fashion, Beauty, and F&B will be held on Garosu-gil for just one day on October 1.

During the flea market, you can enjoy a variety of participation programs at ExperienceZONE.ONE.

K-Pop Random Play Dance

Time: Oct 1st, 5PM

Location: Gangnam Square, Gangnam Station

Grab your friends and show the crowd your best moves to some of your favourite K-Pop in the dearly beloved random play dance session; you'll be able to find this exciting event in the Gangnam Square near Gangnam Station.

Byulmadang Fashion Show

Time: Oct 1st, 5PM

Location: COEX Mall Star Garden Library

On the second day, October 1st, the 'Byulmadang Fashion Show' will be held, featuring designers and models who are inhabitants of Gangnam at the COEX mall Star Garden Library.

Autumn Feast Classic Music Performance

Time: Oct 1st, 7PM (90mins)

Location: K-Pop Square

Following this, the Gangnam-gu's symphony orchestra and choir will perform a classic music show called 'Autumn Feast' on K-Pop square.

K-pop Yeongdong Daero Concert

Time : Oct 2nd, 7PM (120mins)

Location : K-Pop Square & Yeongdong-Daero

There will also be a K-Pop concert 'Yeongdong-daero K-Pop Concert' on October 2nd. There will be performances from PSY who is celebrating the 10th anniversary of 'Gangnam Style', as well as THE BOYZ, CHUNG HA, WEEEKLY and HIGHLIGHT.

'The 19th International Peace Marathon' will take place on October 3rd, starting at 8 AM KST around Bongeunsa-ro. The marathon will have a full course (42.195km), half-course (21km), 10km and 5km. 6000 people including headquarters of 8th US army living in Korea, various countries' ambassadors, foreigners, and inhabitants are joining in the event, and the entry fee will be donated to charity.

The Yeongdong-daero Media Show 'Flower, Human, Dance' will run for 10 minutes 3 times per evening each day from October 5th to October 8th. The showtimes will be at 18:40, 19:40, and 20:40 PM KST. There will also be a Pungmul performance, Korean traditional dance with Korean traditional instruments, before each Media Show starts.

Maru Green Concert

Time : Oct 7th, 8th 7PM (120mins)

Location : Maru Green Park

'Maru Green Concert' will take place for the first time in the Maru Park in Ilwon-dong from October 7th and 8th. Famous vocalists like Shin Seung Hoon, Baek Z Young, Gummy, Feel Kim, Jang Min Ho, and Yang Ji Eun will perform at the concert. Furthermore, there will also be various food trucks where people can enjoy K-food and watch 'K-Culture Stage' from October 1st to 8th.

An Exhibition of Architectural Culture in Gangnam

Cho Seong-myeong, the district head of Gangnam said, "We prepared the big festival for the inhabitants who had a hard time during the pandemic period. Gangnam Festival is a festival that will be branding the district and it will become one of the many world festivals."
